Event

Concert performance for children. “The Princess and the Pea”

“Once upon a time, there was a prince who wanted to marry a real princess, yet how to find one?” This is how one of Hans Christian Andersen's most famous fairy tales begins, which is the basis for the musical performance “The Princess and the Pea”. The performance takes place in a fairytale palace, where the characters of the story, dressed in sumptuous costumes, play on ancient musical instruments and sing in sonorous voices the music of the great masters of French Baroque music – Marc-Antoine Charpentier and Jean-Baptiste Lully. Many vivid characters will adorn the show – the Prince, the Princess, the Queen, sleeping gnomes and mice, even a pea and bed-makers. The roles will be played by vocalists, dancers and musicians – professional artists and students of the Riga Cathedral Choir School, ballet studio “Freska” and dance school “Vendija”. The special atmosphere of Rundāle Palace and its beautiful gardens will make every spectator feel like part of a fairy tale. Before the performance, the little visitors will have the opportunity to participate in creative workshops.

  • Before the performance, starting from 11.30, young visitors will have the opportunity to participate in creative workshops.
  • The ticket price includes a visit to the palace park and the rose garden.

Tickets are required for children from the age of 1.
